On 3 January 2017, Finland released gold collector coins to celebrate its first century of independence.

The collector coin’s reverse features a mosaic forming of the cartographic image of Finland. The arched shape on the obverse depicts Finland’s population growth during the years of independence.

Minister of Finance Petteri Orpo minted the first sample of the collector coin on Wednesday 30.11.2016 in Mint of Finland’s factory in Vantaa.
